This journey I’m on – it’s a lifestyle, not a diet. Today I woke up and a number appeared on the scale that I haven’t seen in ten months. In less than a month, I’ll be spending 6 days on the beach. The combination of those two factors ordinarily would terrify me, but if I’ve learned anything over the last year, it’s that you can’t live your life trying to force numbers on the scale.
On Friday, we went out for dinner, followed by a beer flight at a local tap house that just opened {Dallas folks: On Rotation in Lakewood is well worth the drive!}.
On Saturday, we grabbed tacos and margaritas with friends, then spent the evening drinking beer and watching college football.
On Sunday, we had friends over for a BBQ, complete with burgers, pasta salad, and brownies.
But, leading up to that I hit my macros and workout goals for four days straight, and in between the indulgent meals and drinks out this weekend there were egg white omelettes, protein shakes, a 4 mile run, two CrossFit workouts, and a 60 minute sweat sesh at City Surf {more on that later!}.
It’s all about balance. I can’t live my life stage-lean. I don’t want to turn down opportunities to try new restaurants or fret over the menus, attempting to calculate the macros for each entree option. I may not ever weigh 111 pounds again, and I’m completely okay with that.
