Yup, you heard me right. Free – or almost free – athletic equipment. And beauty items. And kitchen goods. And you don’t have to be a blogger or answer 3,000 questions to get it.
A few months back, Ginger of the Ginger Marie Blog posted about how to get free stuff online. One of the sites she mentioned was Review Kick, where you can sign up to “purchase” free or heavily discounted items in exchange for unbiased reviews on Amazon. They have some crazy items on the site – and some great finds if you’re looking to add some gear to your gym bag, need equipment to carry with you when you travel, or are looking to expand your home gym.
GYM EQUIPMENT
Search using keywords like “weight”, “pull-ups”, “gym”, and “crossfit”. We received wrist straps and pull-up grips for free, ordered an exercise ball for $1, paid $5 for knee sleeves that I use when doing heavy squats, bought gymnastics rings to hang in our garage for $10 (usually $50+!), and saved $20 on this heavy-duty dip belt.
And, don’t overlook the value of foam rollers and massage balls for post-workout. They’re equipment most people don’t invest in, but are oh so important. There are lots of options on Review Kick for just a few dollars. All you have to do is post a review!
TRAVEL EQUIPMENT
Review Kick has lots of jump ropes (I have one just like this one, which is on RK for $4) and travel resistance band kits (I paid $35 for one just like this, on RK for $7.50), with which you can get in a decent workout even at the worst of hotel gyms.
Some other Review Kick deals I’ve swooped up recently include:
First Aid kits, and additional items to add to them – $3, normally $25. You couldn’t buy the bandaids in this kit for that price!
KT Tape, which I use to improve my grip at the gym – $3, normally $18
Sunless self tanner with DHA, just like they use in airbrush studios – FREE, normally $25
A flexible mount for my GoPro, which we use to film lifts at home – FREE, normally $17
To qualify for Review Kick, you do need to prove some history of writing useful reviews on Amazon. Log into your Amazon account, then navigate to My Account / Personalization / Your Public Profile. Click the “see more” drop down to find out how many “votes” you have (which means someone else found your review helpful) and your ranking. You don’t need a lot of votes – or even a lot of reviews – to quality. If you don’t have many, no worries. Go to your recent orders and start reviewing! Consider adding a few photos of the items to increase your review’s relevance, which will get you more votes.
