Even though Evie is 8 months old, in many ways, C and I are still settling in to this whole parenthood thing. One of our regular challenges has been figuring out what to do on a Saturday night. We want something that we’ll enjoy and is baby-friendly – as much as we love cocktail bars…

Riviera Spa Before a Long-haul Flight
Long-haul trips can do a number on your body. Poor blood flow from crowded seats and minimal movement for 18 hours can lead to blood clots. Dry air leaves your body – including your skin – very dehydrated. The increased concentration of people in a small area exposes you to more germs than you might…
How to Host a Pinterest-worthy Glamping Getaway
Life has been hectic, y’all. I feel like I’m almost never at home these days. Still, when the chance arose to escape with some girlfriends to go glamping, I jumped on it. Nothing like a little time away from it all to reset yourself and gear up for another busy few months! This wasn’t your old…
DFA 1st Anniversary Party
Last week marked the one year anniversary of the Dallas Fitness Ambassadors, a network of Dallas-area fitness bloggers and influencers dedicated to spreading healthy living in our community. Greek Festival of Dallas
Some days, you just need to throw your macros out the window and live a little! And that we did, last Saturday at the 60th (yup, 60th!) annual Greek Festival of Dallas. Orangetheory Recap
I’m a huge fan of mixing things up when it comes to my workouts, so when the opportunity arose to pop into an Orangetheory class with my fellow Dallas Fitness Ambassadors, I jumped on the opportunity. Orangetheory offers heart rate monitored fitness classes that mix running on a treadmill with row sprints, weights, and resistance band exercises. I’ve never claimed to be much of a runner, so this class definitely had me panting!
Orangetheory gets your heart rate up, and keeps it up. For each class, you rent a heart rate monitor that projects your status {color coded based on % of max rate} on screens around the facility as you work out. It’s an easy indicator for whether you need to slow down in the active rest and when you need to push harder at different points in the workout. By the end of the workout, their system estimated that I burned about 600 calories. Not bad for a 50 minute workout!

The classes range from bootcamp to barre, yoga to rock climbing, and just about everything in between. Since I was in…
